This place is absolutely horrible. Firstly, I would like to say when we had picked up the car we noticed a few scatches and dings on the car that they had said in perfect condition. Later, upon return they said there was a scratch on the front bumper that we did. When we did not do that damage and it was in a place we would never check for considering it was nearly under the car. Do NOT rent from here! Please...consider someone else before your rent from this company. Their customer service is awful...not nice AT ALL. 1) Waited about half an hour for shuttle to arrive and get us from airport to take to an off-site location several miles away--yet you are still charged AIRPORT FEES each day?? Came into to an EMPTY lot of cars... 2) I now waited another 30 minutes in the waiting area. We rented from TravCar in the middle of July. We got Dodge Caliber which was not in best condition at all, The car has over 60 K mileage, numerous scratches and dents. If I would add a couple more dents they would probably not even notice that:) At the end they chanrged me $10 airoport trasport fee, whcih I was totaly not aware of. Plus they took $200 deposit on the top of rental fees. When I returned the car back they said that they return my $200 deposit back to my debit card within 10 days. It was 07/22/2010. I reviewed various rental car companies online before we decided on TravCar Car Rental San Diego. We saw excellent reviews for TravCar (with the exception of one guy who seems to slam every place he has ever rented on numerous websites; we put his aside), so we made our choice. The pick-up time from the airport was timely, and the staff was personable and knowledgeable. We rented a small Hyundai that was in excellent condition. hello We went to San Diego Memorial Weekend. We found this car rental company on carrentals.com and decided to rent with them because their cheap prices, WOW was that a mistake. DO NOT TAKE THE RISK!!! There cars were in terrible condition. The car we rented was filthy and was considered one of there premium cars. The inside had a smell of CIGARETTE SMOKE. My husband and I were looking for a reasonable-cost car rental at the San Diego airport with decent service. The reviews showed that Payless and Fox, the first two low-cost places we found, were awful, so we kept looking. On cars.com, my husband found TravCar. There was only one review, but it was by an outfit that included its webpage address in the review, suggesting that it's a legitimate review rather than a plant, so we went with TravCar. We run a Christian music magazine (www.christianmusictimes.com), and have occasion to rent cars often. We rented from Travcar Car Rental while in San Diego for a concert, and they were probably the finest group we have ever rented a car from. They gave us what seemed like four-star concierge service.
