A visit to Buckeye/Phoenix lead me to Trapper by strong recommendation from a co-worker who resides in Scottsdale. Surprise AZ is a happy medium between Buckeye & Scottsdale. They have an awesome menu. I tried the Hibiki roll (bottom left). I also tried the Blueberry Lemon Drop. It was very good but a bit skimpy. It was not filled to the brim…at all. That needs improvement but overall I’d return. Sorry I missed the happy hour, but maybe in the future!
Cool concept - We’ll have to come back for the sushi bar, try it one more time just in case. The rice varied drastically between our first plate and our second. The first 6 rice balls fell apart, the rice wasn’t sticky at all. The salmon nigiri we ordered after, had perfect sticky rice. Not sure what seasoning was on the seared tuna, but I couldn’t stand it.
