Transmission City is awesome, and the employees are so kind and helpful. Especially in these uncertain times with the Covid-19 virus pandemic. They took the time to gently wipe down the steering wheel, shifter, window controls, door controls, and interior and exterior handles with a sanitizing wipe. They did this both before and after performing work on my car. I really appreciate the professionalism and great service that I receive from this locally owned and operated auto shop.

I brought these guys a junk yard trannny off the car to inspect and change parts if needed before I did the swap myself into my car. Knowing it had 166,000 miles they took it apart/inspected it and reinstalled the old used bearings. They only put in 1 new synchro and tried charging me $800 bucks! After a heated debate with the manager about reinstalling super high mileage old bearings they said they would put in new ones if I supplied my own parts adding $231 more to the project. NEVER NEVER take your vehicle to Transmission City in Sandy, Utah. They have cheated us out of over $2000 and after keeping the vehicle for a ridiculously extended period of time, sent it home with the same problem it came in for. So, save yourself a bundle of money and heartache. NEVER!!!!!!!

My husband and I went on a trip out of town. While we were gone my son was driving my Acadia. Reverse stopped working and it would not go over 20 mph. When I called the dealership they said that even though this was a "known problem" with these cars they would not cover it as we were 30 days past the date of the warranty. They also told me that If the dealership did the work they would be replacing the failed part with the same part, knowing it would fail again in 3-5 years. I had taken my car to another car repair shop and they told me that I needed motor mounts and transmission mounts replaced. They gave me a price quote. I decided to take it to Transmission City for another quote and inspection. My car had recently been in a hit and run and I wanted to check and see if the bad mounts were related to the accident. All I can say is wow. I took my 2002 Toyota RAV4 to two other shops before calling Transmission City. When I called them they wanted to see my car before giving me a quote. Just like the rest, or so I thought..... It turns out my car was at a shop near them and they offered to go get it to save me the trouble. That's not the best part either. I am writing a letter of thanks to Transmission City for their very honest analysis of what I thought was a transmission problem. This was not only from my own unprofessional judgment, but also from Tanner Transmission of Taylorsville, who told me that I need a complete transmission rebuild to the tune of about $2200.00.
