When I read the other reviews (and the owner's responses) I can accept that the staff here are probably working very hard and trying to provide a decent experience. What I can't accept is the deceit of marketing this as "luxury accommodations" without mentioning the rundown condition of the hotel. There are unfinished walls and ceilings everywhere, boxes and things piled in corners, trash on the floors in the narrow, musty hallways, and rooms that are dingy (and not ready at check-in). The room was clean and smelled good. However, it was VERY expensive for what we got. We waited 15 minutes in an empty lobby until someone came. The number listed on the desk went straight to voicemail. There was no breakfast. We had a broken lamp, a TV that my husband had to hookup, toilet paper that was positioned so that it could not be reached from the toilet, a view of building materials, and a sealed up sink in the room. Wish I could give zero stars! I booked in March 2024 for an October wedding coming up. It was formerly called Trade Winds Inn, which was its name when I booked. I was emailed a few months ago that there was new ownership and renovations were happening, but that there was no further action on my end. Fine, no need for concern right? Wrong! I just got an email today that my booking was cancelled. Trouble is, I didn't cancel it, Hatchway did.
