I’ve been bringing my relatively new Toyota to Toyota of Downtown Chicago for service since I purchased it, but unfortunately I’ll be taking it elsewhere going forward. The wait times are consistently long, even with early appointments, and I’ve become increasingly disappointed with the overall service. On two occasions, I’ve had staff imply that I had moved, altered, or tampered with something on the vehicle when I brought it in. I brought my vehicle in for the last free oil change that was included with my purchase. When I arrived, I was told that the free oil changes had an expiration date, which was the first time I had ever heard of that. They then put me through a lengthy process, including sending me to the dealership to retrieve paperwork for the vehicle purchase. After all of that, they eventually approved my final oil change. I had been bringing my car here for several years. Unfortunately, after my recent visit, I will not be returning or recommending this shop. I trusted that I was bringing my vehicle to an honest shop that knew what they were doing, but after this experience, I no longer feel that way. About a month after my visit, my car stalled in the middle of traffic. When I reviewed my invoice before taking my car to another shop, I noticed there was a diagnostic code that was never explained to me or even mentioned during my appointment.... read more
