First time staying at the Townplace hotel in Tehachapi. Quiet location near a Starbucks, close to Highway 58. Comfortable rooms, easy check in and out. Included breakfast had a lot of options. Staff keeps the food replenished and fresh.

This building is made out of straw the way you can hear everything around you. Overall, staff was friendly and breakfast was good but I couldn’t sleep due to people above us making noise and the barks of dogs that other guests brought in. It’s a fine place but it’s seriously made out of straw. You can hear any and everything.

Yes—unfortunately, the reviews are true. First and foremost, this hotel is very loud. I stayed on the top floor and could still hear constant door slamming, people talking in the hallways, and general noise at all hours. The walls and doors are extremely thin with virtually no soundproofing, which made it nearly impossible to get restful sleep. The room layout was also quite odd. Terrible water coming from the bathroom sink. When I complained I was dismissed with the statement that “ yeah, we’re aware of the issue. It’s an ongoing problem”.
