Our stay was for three nights. Location was great but walking back and forth across a busy road to the pool and beach wasn’t ideal. Being allergic to cats and dogs with no pet free room available made for a trip to the doctors on day two. Breakfast was tasty but set up not well planned. One bar setup with about twenty people trying to jockey for food made for more time waiting for food than eating. Three time I asked a server to refill coffee, cream and bagel trays. This is a great stay in the OBX. The hotel is well run and clean - the expectation you would have as a Mariott property. The outdoor pool area and beach access are perfect. There were many families with kids staying here and we were here for that vibe. The breakfast service was not great. Holliday Inn Express is my personal standard for what a hotel free breakfast should be and this one did not meet that standard. The biggest downside? The coffee was bad. If I am being honest, I have NEVER stayed at a more beautiful hotel in all my life. The moment we walked in our room, I smelled cleaning supplies. And not in a bad way either. But just knowing that the room was CLEAN. It didn’t smell musty or look dirty. The kitchen area in the room had everything you needed to enjoy your stay if you didn’t want to eat out!
