In 1937 Claude Sparks opened a little white diner at 2442 1/2 Broadway in downtown Kansas City and began selling hamburgers for 5 cents each. 75 years later Town Topic Hamburgers has established itself as an iconic piece of Kansas City history. Had to go to the 101 radio station on my lunch hour, called in a tenderloin & tots before I let their parking lot. Drove down the street, waited 10 minutes for my food. Tenderloin was over cooked. Bad first experience for a place everyone raves about.

I have never dealt with someone so rude EVER. The lady taking my order was extremely rude and not helpful in anyway. Kept rolling her eyes and being short. I decided to tip her $2 hoping that would change her attitude for the next guest , nope she continued to be rude. I got a pork tenderloin and tater tots- which are in the trash can as they were so nasty I could not eat them. Picture proof in description. I haven't been here in years, food was great and service was very friendly. Delightful lunch down memory lane.

jimmy and I ate there we enjoyed the hamburgers we went to one down town on main. very good
Food was amazing and staff was so friendly! Will for sure be back for some more!
