We are located in downtown Black Mountain, NC, and occupy three historic buildings dating from the 1920s (one used to be the 5-and-10 and one used to be the drug store). We are still a working hardware store, with all the products and services you would expect from a top-of-the-line hardware chain. In addition, however, we carry a number of hard-to-find items not just in hardware and tools, but also in housewares, toys, and outdoor living. I went in to buy a thermostat for my home. I was directed to an elderly man that was working there. I had my old one with me, he assured me that the one he sold me would work. I went home and discovered that it would in fact not work. I went back to town hardware about 10 minutes later with my receipt to exchange it. They treated me so rudely, because the package had been open, the lady asked how she could resell it, and the elderly man told me maybe I should call an electrician....I spent 40 bucks on something I can't even ... read more
Amazing store and even more amazing owners!
We were having lunch in Black Mountain and after lunch we decided to walk around and check out the local businesses. We stopped in the Town Hardware and General Store. Brings back memories of going to the General Store when I was a kid in Wisconsin. This store is amazing! The store has something for everyone! I love the old train table upstairs in the book area!
