Everyone at Nexus Neurorecovery Center is amazing! Every visit we've had the nursing staff has been so friendly and patient. They have been very good to our daughter and have helped her to become her best self. The entire care team has stayed in constant communication with us throughout our daughter's entire stay. Just discharged from here about a week ago and it was literally one of the worst rehab places I’ve ever been to. They will add medications that were not originally prescribed to you with little to no explanation. Be advised they don’t make their schedules until Friday! Meaning they will waste your first week there just evaluating you and having you in the therapy building from 9-3, and there’s no guarantee you will see all the therapies every day. I have an autoimmune disorder called CIDP. I came to Nexus for the first time unable to walk and left 2 months later able to stand and walk!! My second time at nexus, I had a relapse and was unable to use my upper body (arms and hands). After 1 month I was able to return home with most of my function back. I was in a power wheelchair, completely unable to walk or care for myself, and the left side of my face was drooping and I had a left- neglect which impaired my vision. I also add speech issues because my vocal cords were damaged during the tracheotomy. I could also only eat through a port. Needless to say, I pretty much needed help with everything. It's not how you start but how you finish!!! When I arrived at this facility I was truly in a place of frustration, disbelief, and being down about my situation. I suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with autoimmune disease and the worst part unable to move my entire left side.
