Showed up for an appointment today. Had to come back two more times to be told that they can't fulfill the request I ask for. It's not that they couldn't help me. It's that they made me drive there three separate times in the same day. This could've been handled on my first trip there if they had better communication. Already scheduled a new appointment with another medical group. Good by Optum!!!!
My experience with Optum as a VA community care provider has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Communication is poor and inconsistent. I’ve had appointments scheduled without clear confirmation, including one that was set at a different office while I was actively on the phone with a representative. That appointment was later counted as a cancellation against me, even though I did not request or confirm it. Their scheduling process feels set up to work against the patient. I have been seeing Dr. Powell since late 2017. She is a wonderful, caring physician, takes her time. Have referred others who found the same. Her staff has always been very nice and helpful. I also realize getting an appointment may take a while but it's worth the wait to see her. If you need to be seen quickly she has a PA. When she has had questions or concerns she has actually called me at home.
