I had a genuinely good experience with Torrington Properties in Durham(14 Strafford Ave). The staff were kind, patient, professional, and responsive whenever I needed help. I felt supported during my time there. While I know experiences can differ, mine was very positive, and I’d gladly recommend them to others.
BEWARE Just one of many, many horror stories Stay away! Don't trust anything they tell you. Especially TRACEY at the Durham properties. Even if it's in a lease they signed with you. She demeans, infantalizes, and harasses residents. They don't care or follow leases or housing laws. Tracey told me I could stay for the whole year and then reassigned my room. To Prospective UNH students and community: avoid like the plague if you can. This company has bought up every property near UNH durham and can only charge their high prices because it's the only competition against UNH housing. For my experience, landlords are unresponsive and they converted a closet into an apartment with no windows. This is illegal in many states. Absolutely, by no means, should anyone ever live here. This company has stolen security deposits and has not returned them over 60 days since move out.
