An hour late for even a routine appointment? Just disgraceful.
I was a student at this hospital nursing school from 1960-63. I consider it the most important education in my life. Even with 2 further degrees from U of T & UVic, my alumni will always be TWH.
I was admitted to this hospital by my neurologist at Sunnybrook following a recent diagnosis of a serious neuromuscular autoimmune disorder, and I ended up staying for approximately 10 days. From the moment I arrived through the emergency department, things moved relatively smoothly. The wait for an inpatient bed was understandably long and tiring, but I recognize that hospital capacity and wait times are an issue being experienced across Canada and aren’t necessarily a reflection of the quality of care at this hospital. This is probably my worst experience out of all the bad experiences i have had, i always used to think about overworked doctors and nurses sympathising with them but this is too much. I came in for a tailbone inflammation / cyst which was soo severe that i have never experienced this level of pain ever! I came in to the ER at 3:00am, it is 6:49am now and i have still not seen the doctor. My pain is soo much that i have tears in my eyes, apparently there are 7 more people before me.
