I purchased a 2 x 2 hitch for my 2016 0utback and I installed it last weekend. You will need an 8 or 10 inch socket extension as well as the a torque wrench. Bumper has two screws under the white cap covers. Wire harness connector is behind the driver side rear tie down. Remove the tie down bolt. Connector is wrapped with blue tape. Be prepared to scrape your finger! Hitch arrived in 2 days!
