The Top Dog Resort staff has been selected for their passion with dogs. The care of your dog is our first priority. The staff to dog ratio is about 1 staff person for every 10 dogs. Our dog Molly loves Top Dog. She is a bichon and gets excited when we put her in the car to take her. She doesn't even look back at us once we get in the door and they take her inside. She doesn't care we are leaving her, she just wants to get inside to play with the other small dogs. The employees are good at giving her the meds we bring and Molly always loves going. After reading other reviews I found it important to submit my review. I am not a relative or friend of the owners or anyone that works at Top Dog, so therefore I feel I am very impartial! I have been taking my little bichon mix dog to Top Dog for probably 8 years now and have been very, very pleased! When I drop my little dog off the staff is extremely friendly and shows they really care about my dog and my wishes. Our 4 dogs love Top Dog. They're all big girls and have stayed there several times over the years. No problems.
These people are unbelievably closed minded! We just moved to Sioux Falls from Vancouver, Canada. I cannot believe the ignorance attached to a breed. I told the woman I spoke to that my dog was an 8 year old mix of pit bull, and lab and she said they couldn't handle the strength oh THAT TYPE of dog.. They take large dogs but I guess they feel it's ok to immediately discriminate against any dog as soon as you mention pit... It's this type of ignorance that has lead to the discrimination of certain dogs.. And consequently doom... read more
I'm not a customer of Top Dog and won't ever be one. I worked at Top Dog for only 3 short months and you would think it was the best 3 months of my life getting paid to play with dogs all day? But it wasn't. It was definitely a good time playing with my furry Friends, but it wasn't worth being in a hostile work environment whenever the owner, Deb Heine, was around.
