I was really looking forward to eating at Tonic. Not really what I expected....food was brought coldish BEFORE the French press coffee. We had to ask for condiments AND cream and sugar for coffee. Too pricey for the experience....
Delightful and delicious French Scramble. Could have been a tad hotter but a hit with spinach. Talia, my service is a pro, 10 stars charming and kind. Please get rid of the french press pots a fiasco. Hard to see in sunshine where pour spot was spilled all over table and burned my index finger. Needed a pile of napkins. Another customer would raise a real issue with the burning. Great coffee otherwise.
Tonic, a hidden gem of Cville? Tonic so far has not failed us. Early in the pandemic it was hit and miss, however we have gone back for brunch and dinner. So, its the kind of place that you should know about. The atmosphere, if you're sitting outdoor, its lovely especially in the fall, spring or winter cool, the cocktails are inventive, and selective. Glad we stopped at this establishment. We only had a drink and appetizer (feta spread with grilled bread) but loved the outdoor atmosphere and friendly service. There is also indoor seating. Feta spread was nicely flavored with lemon zest.
