my 2 cents My understanding on copper additives to fish water is to help control disease. with regards to the "could be disease" how is one to know what is wrong with your fish by description. Do you call a Dr. for a diagnosis? i agree tongs can be pricey on some items but they are reasonable on others, just shop around. you will be hard pressed to find a local fish store with this much inventory and reasonable pricing.
Unhealthy Fish, Over Priced Half of their fish are lethargic, while the other half are already dead. Customer service is horrible, fish are overpriced. Pets Mart has healthier livestock..lol
My Favorite store! I was wondering why would anyone gave them neg. reviews? In my opinion, this is one of the best tropical fish store in southern California. The store is really well stocked and the price is reasonable. The customer service is overall good. The employees are friendly, honest, and very helpful. Pulled a switch on me I wonder why someone would use unethical business practices to pass along a dead plant they don't want to take a hit on to a customer who would otherwise come back and spend hundreds of dollars. I guess that is what they do in the East and since this business is owned by people of the East they haven't left these deceptive practices in the East. Unhelpful staff, lethargic fish, overpriced stock I'm surprised the previous reviewer was happy with their visit as I was pretty much left unsatisfied. Though the store is large and has plenty of inventory, the prices are definitely higher than other stores in the area. Additionally, they have a couple staff members that will help you buy your fish but no one will really answer higher level questions. buyer beware!!: check prices somewhere else before ordering stuff here!! as what most people said, the service is horrible. Amazing store Great selection of a variety of fish.The employees are well informed and very nice, Tanks are almost wholesale price, very cheap, they will also help you load it into your car if needed. Great selection on fish food, also at a low price. One thing that stood out was that they had employees walking around looking to see if there fish where happy and asking customers if they needed help as well as answering there questions.
Tong's Tropical Fish owner has a personality not fitted to run a business. I have purchased a complete 200 gallon set up and this is the only time the owner Tong has spoken to me. He otherwise wouldnt even say HI. I will bring my business elsewhere where they appreciate my business. The fish are also not in the greatest condition as you can see many dead fish in the tanks.
The BEST store around I can't believe these other reviews are for the same store. I am VERY impressed with Tong's. The staff has always been courteous and knowledgeable. The tanks and water clean, and many time I've been given a discount off prices without even asking! I've had fish I've purchased from other stores die within a week or so, but every one I've bought at Tong's is still alive and happy.
