I am not happy with Tom!! I had 3 machines that needed cleaning and tension fixed; and one of them had problems with catching the bobbin thread. He quoted me a price on the phone that I agreed to but when I went to pick them up a wk later... the price was $100 more. His excuse was that he needed to replace the cord on one, the light didn't work, the feed dogs were shot, the gears were shot, yadda yadda yadda.... THAT was not even the problem with that machine. I have always had very good luck with Tom. He's normally quick and efficient.

He "worked" on my grandma's sewing machine for a week and when she wanted to be sure it was fixed and it still didn't sew his excuse was that he "didn't perform well for an audience". So, she let him work on it for an additional week. It still didn't work when he returned it and other parts that had worked (the foot etc.) didn't work either. A small service charge might be understandable if he wasn't skilled enough to fix the problem, but he charged $90 and refused any refund.
