I purchased a lawn tractor from this company and have never recieved quality service on all four occasions that it was serviced. I know many people stand by them but I have had bad luck. They will correct the problem but at a great inconvenience to the customer. Their location is convenient, however I which there was another John Deere service dealer near by.A very disappointed customer
Ive had excellent experience with Toms. Ive bought a number of John Deere equipment from them, as well as service parts, and they have always been extremely helpful and have gone out of their way to help me in a number of "emergency" situations. The buying process was also extremely easy with them and delivery on the purchased units has always been very quick. I would recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing any type of lawn/garden equipment (in particular, John Deere)...
@Larry: I had the exact same issue with them! They picked up my mower and brought it back after changing the oil. then a few days later it started to stall out all the time. When I asked them about it they said "oh yea, you need to change your gas" and then charged me to come back out. They are the only JD repair center on the East Bay but I would gladly pay someone extra JUST so I do not have to go back to Toms.

Company makes its money on their pickup service charge. They offer a free pickup for Spring maintainance, but just does the basic tuneup and does not do a routine check for potential problems. They wait for you to find something wrong, you call and they get the pickup fee. So why alert a customer to a problem when they can charge the \$75.00 fee.
