I visited this Tokyo Smoke yesterday July 14th around 10pm, and had a very weird experience before entering the store. The gentleman asked for my ID, and I happily showed him my OHIP card and he said that my OHIP wasn’t VALID?? I was super confused, and he asked me if I had my driver’s licence and I showed that to him. Not be mean or anything, but you guys need to train your staff better with dealing with the public. An OHIP card is a very valid ID, there was no need to have me do that.
Not a traditional review, but I think the employees need to be commended. My girlfriend was being followed on the street at night and went into the store visibly very shaken. The employees there that day went above and beyond to make her feel safe and help calm her down. I hope that this gets back to them somehow, because they deserve recognition for being wonderful to her. On top of this, we’ve had previously very helpful and friendly service from the same employees who were there that night.
