I love this place! First visit was 6 years ago. Every visit is so wonderful and so much great food! We always have a container to take home and the yellow sauce is perfect too. We have never been disappointed and go numerous times during the year.

DON'T GO HERE!! One of the worst restaurants I have attempted to eat at, coming from a restaurant connoisseur I was extremely unimpressed. Service was well below one star. I brought my mother here for her birthday with my family and like many other viewers I was very disappointed. I made a reservation for the 5 adults 3 toddlers and when we got there they were unprepared for us. We had to wait for them to get everything together. It went downhill from there. Re: Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse on Barry Rd. We went there with a group of 14 people. The floor under our feets where we sat were dirty, there was food, rice all under the table area. Our show by the chef was mediocre, I've seen much better, there was very little conversation between the chef and all of us. We were never offered any 'sauces' like green sauce, ginger sauce, or hollandaise sauce. The table beside us got theirs in little dishes per guest, we did not. Having been to this same type of restauraunt in many other cities, we like this one the most. The chefs are quite good, the waitresses are helpful, and the bartender,Hung, was awesome. This place is not too fancy - but instead is noisy, comfortable, and feels like a big party when the tables are full. Not the place for a quiet romantic dinner, but is great for family outings or double dating. Did I mention lots of great shrimp?

This place is by far the best place to eat in Kansas City. The food is good, the chef is entertaining and all around its a great atmosphere! By far, the ebst chef is Densin (I doubt I spelled that correctly). Everytime I go I ask for him. He's the best and I can't imagine having another chef!
