LOVE THIS PLACE!!! – This place is the best sushi I've tried in Portland. I've had my fair share of skimpy rolls and not-quite-as-fresh stuff in a couple of the more "popular" sushi spots, completely over-paid in some of the "high-end" places, and it was only since I've found Tokyo Restaurant that I finally have a go-to restaurant that we frequent weekly. Nice Atmosphere Japanese & Sushi Tokyo has a serene atmosphere for a busy lunch spot. They also do dinners, but are busiest at lunch. They have solid sushi and bentos. Their ramen is pretty good too. My daughter likes their teriyaki.
best Sushi this side of Portland – I have seen some bad reviews on this place and I don't understand it. I will say my wife and I are from Vegas and were told how great the food is out here in Portland area and we have eating nearly everywhere and have not been impressed to say the least. good food friendly staff very fresh – My wife and I took here sister who was in town and is a big sushi fan. We ordered the EDAMAME(soybeans) they were so fresh and good I recommend highly. They have box lunch and dinner which you can choose from different items, great value and lots of food. I ordered the the tokyo steak in ginger sauce, ordered Med. rare came out med. well to well but had good sauce. over all we will go back.
Heard good things and decided to give it a try A coworker likes this place so I stopped in to give it a try. They have mostly sushi and teriyaki dishes. I had the chicken yakisoba and was disappointed - hardly any vegetables were in it. Maybe their sushi is better then the yakisoba.
Restaurant Tokyo We went in back in June, at the beginning of the "dinner hour". We were seated right away, but we had to wait a long time for our food. The menu is simple, but not quite what we were hoping for. I would have liked to see more sushi and sashimi choices, and their prices were not that good for a place not THAT upscale. Finally – Truth be told, my fiance and I can be a bit pretentious when it comes to sushi. Wasn't expecting much and was unimpressed – My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick fix for sushi on sunday afternoon. When we walked in to see the place completely empty we should have taken the cue. The staff was fairly attentive - but again, we were the only people in the place. Fresh sushi, a lot of choice, friendly staff – Randomly stopped in this restaurant. Had a sushi roll and some Ramen. I was pleasantly surprised that I was brought an appetizer salad for free, and enjoyed it. Staff were very friendly, and menu had alot to choose from.
