Fathers, BEWARE! I hired Dr. Dunn (Todd Dunn, PhD, a custody evaluator in Utah) based on an attorney's recommendation that he was fair toward fathers. Unfortunately, that was clearly not the case in my experience. During the evaluation: My ex was allowed to make false claims of sexual abuse, even though two detectives provided testimony stating the exact opposite. I went through a custody battle when I was little and I know that I was abused by my father. Now, Dr.Dunn has given my father full custody of my two half-sisters who I lived with for 14 years when I lived with him. When I told Dr.Dunn (over only one 10 minute phone call) some of the things my father did to me he said "well I know he is going to deny that" and Dr.Dunn never talked to me further. Dr Dunn did not listen to anything the children told him about what was happening. When it came time for Dr Dunns portion of final mediation it was discovered the ex was hiding property and yet another live in boyfriend. Dr Dunn just ignored the new information and finalized his decision. He didn't stop the mediation to look into her living situation, additional properties, never questioned the boyfriend or anything else that could have potentially affected the final conclusions. Dr. DUNN has to make some tough recommendations, I don't envy his position. His recommendation was spot on, even though I didn't agree with all of them at the time, but he was still fair! Hindsight is 20/20. He evaluated us 6 years ago and I now see the wisdom of his recommendations. Thank you Billie Pettingill
Dr. Dunn ripped our family apart, literally splitting kids between mom and dad. The damage done was irreparable. That was 10 years ago. I am still shocked at how he ran his "evaluations" For example, he scheduled visits so parents could fake what their homes are really like. He played favorites with dad and disregarded my input completely. Dangerous man!
