If you find out you need to have a brain tumor removed please do yourself a favor and see Dr. Savage at theIU Health Nuero Science center. I had to have a brain tumor taken out immediately and he took my case because it would have been a case other doctors would have turned down. Thank goodness for Dr. Savage and his surgery team taking my case because I am doing great after the surgery now 42 days removed from surgery. The surgery was so good and the incision was so clean and neat a wonderful job. And the difference in me i... read more

6 weeks post fusions and 100% better. I would highly recommend Dr Savage and team at Methodist. Super good care!

Dr Savage placed a ventriculoperitoneal shunt to treat my normal pressure hydrocephalus. He is very easy to talk to and took time to answer questions.

A year ago I had an L4L5 Spinal Fusion. I did not see Dr Shaw either before or after surgery on the day of surgery. As I was being rolled into surgery by a member of the team I was told that Dr Shaw was not doing the surgery, rather, a 7th year resident was doing ; however, “he is very good”! Shocked I had no option except to jump off the surgical cart! Which I did not do. I should have. I began having different problems than before surgery just 4 months after surgery. I could not reach Dr Shaw—-or rather, I would get call-b... read more

Dr. Cohen took care of my son who had an AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation). Dr. Cohen met with us in Oct. 2020 and recommended surgical removal, which was not what neurosurgeons we had seen before recommended. It was a shock, but he walked us through all the options and why he felt surgery was best. He took our son's case to a group of fellow doctors. He was patient and kind. He even accommodated us with another appointment to discuss all our questions. Our son's case was very complicated and Dr. Cohen was always kind, caring... read more

Dr. Cohen took excellent care of me in my time of need. I would not have wanted any other neurosurgeon to be a part of my health care team. I would refer any friend or family member without hesitation. Incredible knowledge, great bedside manner, and overall phenomenal provider! I truly could not have asked for a better experience given the circumstances.

Dr. Cohen's reputation precedes him, and my experience further expands upon his excellent work history.

Diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus with a recommended procedure called an endoscopic third ventriculostomy. Scary stuff, but my symptoms were a severe quality of life issue for me. I was surprised that the VA referred me to the chief surgeon at Methodist Hospital, but thank God they did. I'm fixed!!
