This is a fantastic public pool and a real asset for the people of Cairns. The facility is consistently well maintained, clean, and clearly very well run. From the moment you walk in, you can see that a lot of effort goes into keeping everything at a high standard. The pool areas are tidy, the water is clean and inviting, and the surrounding spaces are well presented and easy to navigate. I did adult swim classes here but it wasn’t a great experience. Most of the older swim instructors were oddly condescending and not particularly helpful so I dropped out after a week and taught myself to swim instead (took just a week). The front desk staff and life guards were very pleasant. However, the office manager (Helen) and the gym manager need to work on their customer service (Helen can be rather dry and unresponsive).
