Took my Girlfriends car here for an inspection, and they told us the Tire had a "bulge" in it and we need to replace all four tires! They also told us that one of the head lights needed replace. We took it to another shop and they said they were trying to rip us off and the car was in perfect condition. Do NOT take your car here. They are rude, and are trying to take advantage of people.
Very good bunch of guys. Went in with aftermarket wheels and tires with no appointment and they got me in right away. They were very careful with the wheels as to not scratch them unlike some places. I had an air leak in one of the wheels and they worked with me everytime i stopped in until i was satisfied. Will gladly take all my wheel and tires business there from now on. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS TIRE TOWN FOR ANY INSPECTION! – One star is greatly over rating their service! I took my 03 Toyota Corolla to the North Atherton St. Tire Town on August 14, 2009. I was told that I needed the following to pass: have my wheels balanced ($8.95), new windshield wipers ($23.90), and two new tires ($155.80). I was charged $33.95 for an emission test, $25.95 for a state inspection, and $2.00 for the inspection certificate. After their other little fees and taxes I spent $285.55 in total. Tire Town - State College Tire Town in State College is an OK place to go. They do seem to know their stuff. I went to them a couple times when my car was overheating. This had happened before and so I was afraid that it was a cracked main gasket again, which was very expensive, but they found that it was the thermostat and replaced it to bring my car back. Only trouble with them is that they seem to be on the expensive side.
