BUYER BEWARE of purchasing close out tires. On 04/2024, I purchased 4 Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires from Tire Rack and within 2 years and approx. 15000 miles the tires started to show Circumferential Upper Sidewall Cracks. The manufacture date code show the tires were made in 2021 so the tires were already 3 years old. After providing Tire Rack with photos and tread depth gauge readings. Tire rack refused to replace my tire because the rim had been worked on. They were the ones who referred me to someone to get the rim repaired. They said it was a liability issue. I offered to sign a liability waiver saying I was aware of the risks but they still refused. But they have no issues sending me out in the rain with a tire with a leak in it and that has tread wear that needs replacing. Been loyal customer for 15 yrs, but I’m never going back to tire rack again.
Safety Warning - Check your DOT dates. I purchased 4 New Falken Wildpeak AT Trails with wheels mounted,and balanced in 2023, but received 'New Old Stock' manufactured in 2021 (DOT 3921). Even though I still have 75% of the tread (8/32") left, from the original (10/32")The rubber compound is already failing. When I contacted corporate, they were dismissive and refused a prorated refund, offering only a store credit for a company I no longer feel safe using. My Blizzak snow tires mounted on rims work great and were an excellent value. Bridgestone initially denied the rebate claim but I called Tire Rack and Toby and Mindy worked with Bridgestone to quickly reconsider and approve the rebate claim. Excellent product as well as customer service, much appreciated!
