Doctor Wu performed a gum graft for me before the pandemic, and unfortunately it was unsuccessful and the graft fell off. I scheduled an appointment to redo the graft but had to cancel due to the pandemic. Several years later, I attempted to get the graft fixed, but doctor Wu’s office informed me that because my insurance changed, it would cost me $300+ to do the procedure (that I had already paid for the first time) again. Excuse me, $300 to do an initial exam, and then we can talk pricing about the procedure!

Visited in November 2021, the billing and service experience was extremely disappointing due to the following reasons: I was unexpectedly asked to make a payment using my credit card after my visit, with the assurance that the insurance would reimburse me later. It would have been better if they had informed me of this payment process prior to my visit. Despite explicitly requesting that the bill be sent to the insurance company for consultation purposes, it was instead labeled as a treatment bill. This misclassification res... read more

Dr. Wu, your office needs to be fair. You're willing to lose patients who have paid thousands for $50? Three days prior to my appointment I called in to inform that I was sick. Your office said I will be charged $50 for changes. This charge would have been justified if I was informed of your policies, but the office failed to do so through scheduling, email and voicemail reminders about the appointment; matter of fact, all my visits no one ever said anything about your policies. Your office have been relentless in going afte... read more

I have had periodontitis for decades—apparently it is genetic. Fortunately, a good friend is a famous oral surgeon in a foreign country. She has given me three implants. She gets a colleague, a professor at the main teaching hospital there, to do my routine periodontal work. So I know what good care is like. But when Covid came along, I could not get to her country. So I searched for the best care I could get in the Bay Area, and was referred to Dr. Wu by a teacher of oral medicine at Harvard. Dr. Wu’s care is indeed the bes... read more
