Went to get a second opinion from Dr wirt and he told me there was nothing wrong with my neck, only mild degeneration, that my pain was something wrong with my arm. Trusted my gut on the first doctor and after fusion surgery my numbness and pain were gone. If I had believed Dr wirt then I would still have my nerves compromised and been in the horrible pain I had still. He also missed my lack of reflexes due to nerve compression on my left side when he examined me. It seems obvious he didn't read my mri which had significant ... read more

Never read the previous Doctor's comments, instead Tossed the clipboard onto the counter and complained of the length of comments from the other doctor. Rude and acted as if I didn't know what I was talking about and showed No sympathy for the pain I've been in for the past 4 years.Basically indicated I'd just have to learn to live with the pain as there was nothing that could be done. I would NOT ever recommend this doctor to anyone!

Dr. Wirt did a Carpal Tunnel Release surgery on me. Wanted me back in 12 days to remove the sutures. I didn't think the incision was closed enough, but he insisted it was fine. About 3 weeks after surgery, I still had drainage, and the wound still wasn't closed. My primary care provider started me on an Antibiotic and told me to make an appointment with him. I saw him yesterday and he was rude, doesn't listen to what you have to say, and makes you feel like an inconvenience for wasting his time. He took a quick glance at it ... read more

Never have I had a Dr show his total lack of care, concern and professionalism! Don’t waste your time consulting w/Dr Wirt. Not only did he NOT review my 6 page intake form or all of my X-rays & MRI’s. He stated he didn’t care what the Radiology report said, I was given bad genes from My Mom and Dad & just live with it. Dr Wirt needs to retire obviously. He spent about 5 min total with me and told me not to come back until I couldn’t walk at all. Seriously, I am surprised he still has his license. Banner Health, you made a hu... read more

Dr Wirt was wonderful when I first met him explained everything to me in detail. I had surgery on my L4andL5. After the surgery I was still in Excruciating pain and didn’t think that was normal especially when I was told that I would be pain free after surgery. I made an appointment with Dr Wirt 3 weeks post surgery because I was still in pain and couldn’t walk normal. Dr Wirt blew me off some of the comments that was said to me was very rude. I was made to feel like an idiot. I will never go back to see this doctor again i ... read more

Extremely knowledgeable, caring, thorough, attentive and he explained everything to me to the point I that I felt comfortable. He singlehandedly changed the course of my, post car accident, rehabilitation for my C2 cervical spine injury. I would recommend Doctor Wirt to any and all looking for an expert in spinal injuries, and who want a doctor who actually cares about their patients. I cannot say thank you enough for what Dr. Wirt has done.

I think some of the negative reviews above do not reflect his sense of humor. He told me he could fix my 30-year lower back problem with 20 minutes of surgery and he did. Didn't even need to take an aspirin afterwards. That was 11 months ago. He did a fantastic job.

Dr. Wirt performed spine surgery on me 2 years ago and it has worked completely well. No more sciatica pain!

Interesting visit with Dr. Wirt

My first experience with Dr. Wirt, over a decade ago was professional and courteous. My most recent experience was quite the opposite. As another reviewer said, he was very dismissive and seemed to be very uncaring. He didn't care why I was there. He just wanted me to leave. He wouldn't give me a chance to explain some of the trauma my back had gone through since my first visit over a decade ago. Several years ago, he had done my spinal surgery and it was a success. However, over the past decade I've had a few falls and one ... read more
