My dad was a patient of Dr. Ismond for many years. He would do his checkups and always say everything looked fine. Well, they were fine... until they weren't. Once my dad changed primaries, the new doctor (an actual MD) quickly discovered stage 4 lung cancer. Do yourself a favor and avoid this guy at all cost.
Beware of their miss "coding" - 4 years in a row I have had to fight for hours with insurance because the staff cannot code correctly. I go in for a physical and they always mark it as something different. Is it on purpose to get paid more through my insurance and hoping I won't notice and pay as well? I have grown not to trust anything associated with McLaren.
If I could give this man zero stars I would. He should not be allowed to practice anymore. FIRST he missed my mother's cancer THEN her hyperthyroidism for over a year! Absolute negligence. If you care about your loved ones go somewhere else.
I have been seen by Dr Ismond for the past 20 years or so and I feel very fortunate to have him as my internist. He is kind and attentive along with being intelligent and up-to-date on the latest medical procedures and treatments. He always allows plenty of time for his appointments so every issue can be addressed. When I did have to be hospitalized, I always felt better after he paid a visit. He was still there watching out for me.
