The dining room is lovely and service was decent. We ordered pork chops and they were so, so dry. Just awful. We couldn't catch our server to send them back (and we never send things back!) so we just dealt with it. Our sides were perfect and no one seated around else seemed unhappy with their meals so it must be the porkchops. If you decide to try this restaurant -- don't order the pork chops!

The place has a lot of potential, but is not realizing any of it at the moment. The restaurant was at less than 40% capacity- maybe 6 tables had people. Our group of 5 waited 20 min to get sat then over 20 min to get our waters and coffees. We actually ended up walking up to the lobby for the free coffee while we waited. The food also took a long time to come out, and was very low quality ingredients which were poorly prepared. The staff was kind but inept. Our server brought us an empty bottle of hot sauce for example and d... read more

This restaurant and lodge holds a special nostalgia for me because having grown up in the nearby town, I used to accompany my family to the Salt Fork Lodge almost every day for multiple summers growing up around 30 years ago. That's because my mother is a portrait artist and would be busy drawing faces in the lobby right outside the restaurant near the pool. We didn't eat at this restaurant (now called "Timbers") very often then, but I made friends with a former waitress as a child. And over the last 3 or so years though, my... read more

After reading the reviews we were initially a bit hesitant to try eating here, but we decided to give it a try regardless. We were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful view and nice, clean restaurant. We were met with Sarah as our waitress. The food was all very good but her service was what made it feel like a 5 star restaurant. Understand, you will be paying for the convenience slightly when you eat here just because there are truly no other options close by, but it was well worth it in our opinion. We came back and wer... read more

My wife and 2 grandkids had breakfast Saturday morning. My one granddaughter had pancakes , they were not done in the middle. My wife and I hade potatoes, they were cold ! Breakfast for 4 was $85. This is outrageous to pay that much for food at a state park. Food should be comparable to a normal restaurant prices. The Timbers isn’t nothing special. It would be nice to be able to have decently priced food and good food so you don’t have to drive into Cambridge to eat.
