RecommendedGreat course, I like the layout the scenario awesome but it's not for beginner.
I really want to like this course - it's beautiful. However, poor management, lack of customer service, from the pro shop to the restaurant makes this a poor experience. No water on the course, 6 hour rounds and no course marshal to facilitate speed of play. I'll never play Tilden again.
Course was in great shape. Unfortunately we were the first group of a tourney and followed their women's group. We usually play in 4. This was 5 and torture
Very pretty course. The hills added good challenge. I played it twice there and never feel rushed. The red tee box locations are mostly within the same platform with the blue and whites. Not a whole lot of driving to the lower platform which is great. Easy to get to great restaurants in Berkeley after the game too. :)
I love the driving range I drove from vallejo to hit balls .when I got there they said they were out of balls had to wait half hour ,so I went to watch people hit and I noticed everyone was coming up with baskets of balls they had them 1 level down ! I waited for nothing.
Loved the course...well maintained, great views of the hills and pace of play was perfect.
New management. Greens recently aerated and sanded. They are fast.
One of my favorite courses. It's extremely natural, with big trees, hills, deer, turkeys, and hawks. I like that they have a lot of different tee off options - white, blue, red and yellow - so everyone can enjoy the experience. Bring lots of balls as you'll likely lose a few, and don't forget to stop in for a beer and sit on the patio of the Grizzly Bar and Grill after. The golf course itself was a nice change. I have lived in the bay area for a little over 9 years and had not had a chance to play at Tilden Park. Nice layout and the maintenance program made the course very enjoyable. But whoever operates the food and beverage operation has plenty of room for improvement. It is run with so few employees it simply cannot keep up with demand? Our group of 4 golfers wanted to eat lunch after our round on Sunday at about 11:30 am.
