So disappointed with the changes being made to this place. Construction has been ongoing for a few months and will continue into 2026. Lots of trees being torn down, natural-ground trails being cleared out, water levels being lowered in the marsh, vehicles everywhere. The days of seeing rabbits, deer, voles and other creatures on the trails are long done. No more muskrats, beavers, turtles, and less waterfowl. Don’t see nearly as many animals here as you used to, and there will be even less soon. Breaks the heart

Tifft Nature Preserve is a peaceful escape right in the heart of Buffalo, even on a rainy day. The light drizzle actually made the experience feel more calm and refreshing — the scent of wet earth, the sound of rain tapping on the leaves, and fewer people on the trails made it feel like we had the place to ourselves.
