I have been going to Tidewater Eye for many years. At my most recent appointment, the assistant did the usual eye chart tests. I was extremely surprised when he continued the tests, my doctor always completes himself, ie, eye pressure, etc. It was a little unsettling. When my new doctor came in, she never checked my eyes. She reviewed her assistants notes, and said everything looked fine.
I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Tidewater Eye Center. Last fall I went in for a refraction for a new prescription. The technician mixed up my eyes on the prescription, so when I got my glasses, it was clear there was something very wrong. I went back to have my eyes checked again, and they discovered their error. I received a new prescription and was told that I would not be charged for the second visit. When my new prescription was ready, it still wasn't quite right, so I went back a third time. I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Tidewater Eye Center. We went in at 1.45 for 2pm appt and didn’t leave the office until 5pm , that’s 3 FULL HOURS !!!! Staff did not let us know why it took so long and was not courteous at all when we let them know we had another appt to be at 4.30 which we had to cancel last minute .. very unprofessional experience . I usually do not put any negative reviews but this is unacceptable .
Veteran spouse had an appt via VA referral and the female provider-never been there before, this being our first year needing eye care in this VA VISN- and she called him a liar and said he was "using" her when he said the VA would write the contact prescription and she said they VA did not. On hold confirming with VA now what the case is but I worked for VHA and received my own care between two different VISNs and those both offered contact prescriptions....if this one doesn't, it's clearly news to us... I love tidewater eye center they are amazing. I have never experienced just nice and caring Dr before. They are very good at there job. I would recommend them to everyone I know and trust me I do 🙂💯.Thank you 🙏
