It has been very difficult to get accurate answers from TIAA agents. Some of the agents are helpful; but about a third of them do not know what they are talking about and given inccurate advice or just do not know. It is potluck when you asked to see an agent. They have diligently worked to secure my portfolio and to give me periodic analysis to achieve piece of mind as I consider my retirement horizon in the next few years. Just this week, my advisor, Mr. Brian Stanford (Houston, TX) was simply outstanding as he provided professional advice and prompt execution of allocations from an after-tax account to help us with a home purchase. Do not finance with this company. They have twice now tacked on insurance for the equipment that I purchased with no prior notice even though I have sent them the insurance certificate in the past. They are a dishonest lender that I will never use again.
