This was my first time renting from Thrifty. The Detroit Metro location was very professional. The vehicle was very clean and a joy to drive.
Like everyone else is saying... The staff behind the desk lie and mislead you to trick you into buying insurance or other add one you dont need. They dont ever mention the costs of these. Roadside assistance was added on, and I was never even told that existed much less if I wanted it. I complained to the manager the next day, since we didnt get to pick up the car u til around 11pm due to a flight delay. She said that once you pay she cant do anything about charges. Car reeked like pot when we got it. Called problem number. Told it would be resolved on our return. WE GOT A $50 voucher. The bathroom at the Detroit location reeked of pot while I waited for my problem to be dealt with. Detroit Thrifty has a POT problem.
Car was not ready for pick up and not same car that we ordered. Was not clean! Smelled like smoke! Was told we needed insurance because ours would not cover certain items, NOT TRUE. Waiting to see if we get a credit for that. Return was easy. Not too impressed. Shuttle was quick to and from Ground Transportation
Very limited selection and I was overcharged by 2 days. The return process needs to be changed to returning car to a live person at the counter instead of driving up n parking in random lot
