Thrifty charges $500 for a deposit if you don’t have a credit card. Make sure you have an extra $500:bucks on your debit card if you are traveling. Lesson I learned the hard way. The rental agent was polite and professional. She was doing her job.
The staff at Thrifty were very unhelpful with my booking issues. I went onsite to ask a question and they sent me online to call thrifty directly. I will never book a rental through them again.
Confirmed with lady behind the desk that I wanted no additional coverage. (Credit card already covers what I need) She even repeated "No additional coverage right?" Asked for a quick signature after running my card for a "deposit". Guess what, after I leave I see that I have $120 in extra coverage fees added. Called Thrifty and they said they could do nothing. Don't rent from Thrifty. Reserved car two months in advance. Pre-registered, anticipating to go straight to my selected car.. Advanced message said reserve car not ready with encouragement to pay more to get another model. Finally left lot after 90 minutes. First alternate car had insufficient luggage space, second had cracked windshield, third had cigarette odor, fourth had maintenance warning, fifth car was perfect.
