Confirmed with lady behind the desk that I wanted no additional coverage. (Credit card already covers what I need) She even repeated "No additional coverage right?" Asked for a quick signature after running my card for a "deposit". Guess what, after I leave I see that I have $120 in extra coverage fees added. Called Thrifty and they said they could do nothing. Don't rent from Thrifty. Reserved car two months in advance. Pre-registered, anticipating to go straight to my selected car.. Advanced message said reserve car not ready with encouragement to pay more to get another model. Finally left lot after 90 minutes. First alternate car had insufficient luggage space, second had cracked windshield, third had cigarette odor, fourth had maintenance warning, fifth car was perfect. Perhaps I should had done more research before using Expedia to book my rental with Dollar/Thrifty, but I agree with another review that this company is deceptive. I booked a small two-door economy car for over $400 and bought additional insurance for $70 for a 5-day trip. When the day came to pick up my car, they charged me an additional $330+ for THEIR basic insurance plan and to cover “airport fees, etc”.
