We had an incredible experience with Thrifty in Anchorage! From start to finish, everything was smooth and easy. We rented a minivan, and it was fantastic—super clean, very well maintained, and was surprised that it had leather seats and what seemed to be all the bells and whistles. During my rental, part of the windshield wiper blade broke. Thrifty addressed only the cost of the replacement wiper, but completely overlooked the inconvenience and time involved in dealing with the problem, including the mileage and time I spent traveling to get it resolved. The vehicle had a strong cigarette/smoke odor. This was not simply an unpleasant smell—it caused me significant breathing discomfort and made the rental experience very unpleasant. Not enough agents at the counter so the wait was way too long. The car logistics were clearly not working because one of the agents kept having to go outside to check on cars which further slowed down the line. The agents were friendly and helpful, just not enough of them. Waiting over an hour to pick up you car is unacceptable.
