Huntsville Airport,I will not rent a car from this place ever. The customer service representative was rude, I hand her my credit card and tell her here is my card she says I shoved the card in hand which did not. She goes to the back room to talk to another employee to tell the person to cancel my reservation. That person comes to the computer to cancel my reservation on what she said. Getting the rental vehicle was a quick and smooth experience and drop off was easy as well during business hours. However… Problem 1: at drop off, they will tell you to expect an emailed receipt in a couple of days, which will not materialize. I had to email the local branch to request the receipt. They did respond with a receipt, but that led to… Problem 2. They had added a miscellaneous charge for a car seat that I did not request or receive. Problem 3. UPDATE: I rented from the same location under Dollar a week ago. No receipt was sent and cannot get anyone to respond. Need it for travel voucher. No human to talk to. Dollar corporate says it is licensee so they cannot help. Finally got an answer from email. ORIGINAL: The counter was closed when I got there so they sent me over to Hertz to get my car. They were pretty fast. They upgraded my car to an SUV. They car was a little scratched up but it was decent for my two week trip. Overall I would recommend this place.
Thrifty at Huntsville added $40.35 in unexplained miscellaneous charges to a rental after return. On pursuing this issue with corporate I was informed that this location is a licensee. The listed number for this location does not connect to a support system but rather a message saying they cannot take any calls. Others have described the same thing occuring with this location. RESERVED AND PAID for a MIDSIZE car but given a COMPACT!!! 😡 Upon arrival at HSV airport, I was given a teeny-tiny Nissan Versa. Asked at the Thrifty counter and with the garage attendant wasn’t the Versa a compact car (as it was super tiny and NOT midsize standards) as I reserved and paid for a midsize car. Both employees told me, the airport location has no compact cars and the Versa was their midsize…what?!?!?
