Expect awful customer service and long delays.
All and all a standard car rental experience. I paid extra for a full sized vehicle and was given a compact instead with no compensation. That kind of behaviour is expected nowadays. Don't be surprised when the same thing happens to you.
On Truth and Reconciliation day, there was a two hour line to pick up our rental. At the counter, they told us they were massively oversold and we would out of luck for our reservation (which we confirmed two days before). They were doing nothing to assist customers left stranded and Hertz-Thrifty customer service ignored all emails. Hertz Thrifty group routinely oversells reservations and does nothing to assist you when you get screwed. Avis does not oversell as regularly as Hertz.
When I found myself in need of a vehilce without any time to spare or plan, the entire team came throught for me with consistent and professional customer service and as importanlty, a vehicle on time
