Took my family here last weekend for my son’s first birthday. Growing up I’ve been here twice and had very fond memories so I thought it was going to be a great experience…… it was a ghost town. Terrible service, kitchen times didn’t match up with the sign(staff were rude about it), 1st and 4th floors were super creepy/abandon, no kids activities, laser maze on “free play” but no one could get it to work. Check in went fine. The indoor pool was the only redeeming quality but wasn’t Perfect. The pools were dirty, some of the water gadgets on the water playground didn’t work. Most of the tubes were deflated. The indoor/outdoor whirlpool was empty and shutdown. Our room was spacious enough, however the long bed was old and worn out, the mattress sagged and made you roll to the middle. Booked a room over a month in advance,(through THEIR website not a third party.) show up 15 minutes before check in and told my room has been given to an other guest, my option is cancel cram 5 of us into a smaller room. After driving 2.5 hours that was pretty irritating. The guest checking in before was told the same thing. This was not our experience last year and was told the new owners don’t want them to actually BOOK anything until the guest check in?? As a Choice Hotel member, this is one of the worst experiences we had as a family. We drove four and half for this this for 3 days and 2 nights, just FYI this is the third time we came here, I always believe in second chances but all three times there was something wrong major with the room or it was dirty that we had to move, the first time it was OK but this time the hotel was sold out we checked obviously we cant move but someone was in this room already and got moved since the garbage was full or the didn't clean well. Our first night here was fine. Loved the room and the waterpark. Some of the issues on day one were stained blankets, no child safety locks on the sliding patio doors (we were 4th floor), and they don’t offer a lunch service. Today, though, was pretty awful. Waterpark only open until 1pm, lifeguard was sleeping on duty, bunch of teens running the place, no lunch service and no dinner / bar service despite the signs saying they do.
