The Thompson family has been in the auto and RV business since the 1950s. Thompson Bros. opened in 1952 selling Hudson and Nash automobliles. The gradual shift from autos to RVs began in the 60's when Sid Thompson became the local dealer for Aloha travel trailers. This was a natural fit for the family, as they spent most of their leisure time camping and picnicking in the mountains of Eastern Oregon.
