My husband was under this doctors care for several years. Annually his brain tumor would be "reviewed'. Years later after being told "no growth", MULTIPLE MULTIPLE brain tumors were discovered AFTER waking up blind due to his optic nerve being destroyed. Of course, the doctor is not be blamed for faulty genetics or human imperfection, but I do blame him for his incompetence and negligence of discovering what has been SO obvious to multiple doctors since. My husbands blindness I do blame on him. It could possibly have been pr... read more

I thank Dr Stengel for the extension of my life. Doc performed the first ever wide awake Brain Tumor Surgery in the history of Pinellas County on me back on 8-26-2003. Being wide a awake during the surgery helped Dr. Stengel map out where he could or couldn't remove part of the tumor that had the lesser amount of sacrifices. My Tumor was an Oligodendroglioma/Astrocytoma. Only 2.8% of all Tumors are Oligo-Astro. If I had too have Brain Surgery again I trust him. 18 years and still alive. The Average Life EXPEDACY IS 8-12 YEAR... read more

Dr Stengal has been my surgeon for about 8 years. I've had 2 surgeries on my lumbar area due to two separate herniations. He's professional, compassionate and down to earth. My life has been changed twice in a very positive way thanks to his skills as a surgeon.

Incompetent. Mother broke her neck in mid Feb. Dr put her in a collar and sent her to rehab. Canceled her follow up appointment because she has COPD and coughs, even tho she tested neg for COVID. Told her to keep wearing the collar. She went to her primary Dr and was refered to another neurosurgen and is now having emergency surgery. The break is life threatening. Do not trust this Dr. with your life.

Same review as above multitude of reviews where stengel is very lax in getting the results back in alot more timely basis (sometimes a month or more), IF you receive it at all! very sad! ONE star for sure!

Wasted 2.5 months waiting for an appointment, that got rescheduled with out notifying me. Find a doctor that actually wants to help you. STAFF FAIL

Had CT scan of brain which he received results in a couple days but did not hear from him. When I called his office was told that he takes 3 to 4 weeks to look at results and get back to patients as he is so busy! Totally unacceptable. I went and got report on my own and his office finally called in 3 weeks!
