I think it is blatantly unfair to write a poor review of Dr. Eng due to a negative patient experience resulting from interactions with other employees of the NM Health system. I have had the privilege of having Dr. Eng as my primary care provider for over 20 years now. During that entire time I have received care that is competent, well-informed, personable and professional. Like other 1 stars here, this isn't directed to Dr. Eng as my experiences with him have been strong. Called in April and was scheduled a new patient appt with Dr. Eng on 10/1. Arrive for my appointment and am told - oops - they scheduled the appt for 2026 and Dr. Eng isn't in. Great. Oh, and he's not taking new patients right now. So I just waited 6 months for this appointment for nothing? So I ask if they would speak to the office manager and see if an expception could be made do to the mix up and let me know. I would steer clear of Dr. Eng and this office, in general. I've been going to Dr. Eng for over 10 years as my primary physician. I scheduled an annual exam as I typically do every year. The visit was more or less the same as any other visit. Upon receiving my bill, I learned that my insurance had been charged for the annual exam and an additional office visit. I was a patient of Dr. Eng's for 8+ years and recently decided to go elsewhere. While Thomas is a great person and trustworthy doctor, his office is very slow and disorganized. They require two full business days for simple prescription refills, despite the fact that prescriptions can be sent via mobile phone in two minutes. To add to this, they will often find a way to miss their own deadline. Upon missing their deadline, it will require multiple calls to the office (generally 2-3) to resolve your issue.
