As a self-pay patient, I asked about the cost before receiving allergy testing and was given a verbal estimate. I was later billed significantly more than expected. After months of trying to resolve the issue with the office, I filed a complaint with HHS. HHS informed me it would address the provider's failure to provide one. If you're paying out of pocket, be sure to obtain a written Good Faith Estimate before receiving services.
