Dr Rakes listens well, is compassionate and understanding, and explains things thoroughly. He is very responsive via the online patient portal with any questions between appointments. Great care for typical IgE allergies and FPIES as well. Staff is super friendly and kind. Highly satisfied!!
Wonderful human being, personable, pleasant and very knowledgeable of his chosen field having been educated (with honors), at some of Americas foremost medical institutions (even taking time to serve as captain of the John Hopkins' soccer team for two years). I've been a patient of Dr. Fitzhugh for about a year and a half. I have complicated medical issues. Dr. Fitzhugh has my asthma under control. He has also actively pursued answers to resolve my underlying immune issues. He is a very deep thinker and I have a high degree of confidence in his opinion. He really seems to care a lot about his patients.
Dr. Brown is knowledgeable and professional. Explained in detail to make me understand my condition. Gave samples to help start a new regimen of care. Her nurse top notch, walking with me through the process we were going through. Having said all of this, the front end staff needs training in bedside manners. Condescending, and seemed I was a waste of their time. Ok, we got through that. Come time to make a followup appt, and pay my copay, again, made me feel like they had better things to do. I have been coming to this office for many years and have always been happy until now. The office manager either quiet or was fired. My daughter had a very bad allergic reaction while at the office and was given an epi pen injection. After a 20 min wait she was allowed to drive home. No emergency contact call was given. She was not in any shape to drive home. I am disappointed I was not contacted. This Drs office is a complete joke now. It use to be a decent office. They tell you that as a patient that you have to call in your own prescriptions but when you call the pharmacy you are told the Drs office have to be the ones calling it in. When you change Drs all of the sudden Wises office gets the medicine and they say it's because it's automated. Needless to say the new Dr is unable to order it. They expect someone without a car to drive about 100 miles round trip to their Maysville office to pick it up. Needless to sa... read more
Today I’m very upset and unhappy with Dr. Myers. I had my allergy shots yesterday and I am a severe allergic reaction and he blew me off like nothing. My arm is so swollen itself twice the size it should and my swelling is getting worse. I’m in severe pain, feels like fire ants is all over my arm biting me and my arm has a fever in it and now I’m nauseated. I’ve been taking benedryls that isn’t helping. Thanks. I had my first Telehealth appointment with Dr. Holzhauer today. He is so kind and so thorough. I have some complex health issues. He really listened and did a great job addressing each one. I saw another allergist prior to this visit and I would say that hands down, Dr. Holzhauer is the best! I can tell he cares about his patients.
My husband and I saw Dr. T today for our seven-month-old daughter, and he was excellent! We were referred by our pediatrician for suspected FPIES, and Dr. T was very thorough with going through our daughter’s medical history before agreeing that was a likely diagnosis. FPIES is difficult to diagnose because there is no test, and the research is lacking. Dr. T was very honest about this but still provided as much information as he could.
