Absolutely horrid practice. When I went for my 12 week appointment, I was informed there would be a blood draw. With this being my 3rd pregnancy I was aware of routine blood tests. I did not know until a month later, however, (through a Lab Corp bill for $600) that they conducted genetic testing. I did not consent to genetic testing and was instead told by their nurse supervisor that they consider genetic testing “routine” and do not require consent for it nor do they even have a consent form for their patients to complete. ... read more
