Wire guys -I had them come to my apartment building to give me a price on a electrical problem. Brian-the guy that came was on-time for the appointment. He went through the whole building and checked everything over. He gave me a price on everything I need to correct my problem. I was very impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. BEWARE! Highly unprofessional. They came to our house and charged a fee. Said they’d contact us to set up our generator and never did. Contacted them back two more times, admin said we’d receive a call and never did. These people will waste your time and take your money.
All I’m saying is that things can go wrong with any company but my final assessment is what the company does if/when there is an issue. After they had done a job for me (install an electrical outlet for my stove: 2 hours labor (1st hour used installing it “wrong” and 2nd hour correcting it + part (receptacle) = $345) I phoned The Wire Guys three times (and mailed in a comment card they had provided) to discuss/ resolve the issue. Our annual warranty visit on our whole house generator was excellent. The gentleman warned us and discussed turning off our power. The power was off and the generator turned on. The gentleman was professional and courteous. He answered our questions and it was a positive experience.
I had them come to my house for a simple thermostat change. The bill was really high for work done. I called and requested an itemized bill and it was explained to me they do not provide itemized billing. They then informed me they charged for travel time at the hourly rate of $125 . We live about an hour away and would never have hired them if we knew this! Also they upcharged on thermostat that was $63 and charged us $93,along with paying hourly time of tech.
