The people that were complaining of the smoke, should have not been there to begin with, and they were taking their frustrations out on the food. The Willard has "THE" best food. Great atmosphere (includint the smoke). If you don't like it, go to Burger King or McDonald's.
My wife and I frequent the Willard often. We love the deluxe Pizza with all the toppings, it is the Old Masters recipe and piled high with all your favorite toppings and lots of cheese, not the skimpy cracker crust and minimal toppings popular in some Indy restaurants. And, the wings are to die for. It is a friendly place, catering to all ages, although it does get a bit crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, it is all fun. We've lived in Franklin for 9 years and have always heard how great The Willard is. So finally we go. We walk in and it's smoky. There's no hostess and no sign saying anything like "Seat Yourself". Another group walks in behind us and wonders what we're doing just standing there. We admit that we're not sure what else we should be doing and he graciously tells us you just find your own table.
