Really great hotel with terrific service, they were very nice and went above and beyond for us. Room was very nice although the Hudson River paintings were a bit much, bathroom was very nice, the inventor diagrams are kind of cool. The location is much better than it seems on a map, there’s stairs up to get to Warren St. quite easily. Still, it’s not right in town. It felt very safe even late at night. But super nice staff and gets a star boost just for that. Well worth a stay.
What these other reviews don’t mention is that you might get put in the basement for the same price as the rooms that are on normal floors. Apparently the reason they find it acceptable to charge $500/night for a basement room is that it's a "historic building." Okay that's great but maybe just don’t put people in the basement or at least not in a basement room that doesn't even have windows? Honestly the place is great but the guests were off putting and not kids friendly. I guess it attracts a certain type of audience being where it is located.
Great hotel in a nice location, you can walk to the main street and to all the best restaurants.
