All was great except if you need anything at all. Contact-less check-in. Key left on the desk in the lobby. The phone number provided was never answered and the voicemail box was full. No response in an attempt to text that number. We didn't have any extra toilet paper so we ran out on day one. Luckily there were kleenex. Great location but really more of an over-priced old B&B type property. Carpets were stained, and we rented the largest suite. No one at the front desk at check-in or check-out. About 9PM the whole place had a shake and loud bang rattling the windows. It happened several times and we think it was the back door from the restaurant which our suite #5 was directly over. Yikes. Filthy. Our "suite" was the size of a cracker box. The furniture was obviously worn and stained. Comforter on the bed was nasty. The windows? We're not even going to talk about it. Really uncomfortable stay. I'm sure this was a sparkling spot at one point in time. Hopefully someone can return it to its former glory.
We booked 2 nights at the Whistling Swan in July. The weather was in the high 70's low 80's. The first night when we arrived the temperature in our room was 76 degrees.. The air was set at 65. We had a long sleepless night as the temp in the room rose to 79 degrees. We went to the front desk the next morning and the gentlemen said its an old house and it has trouble keeping up with the air. He offered us a fan for our room. Sometimes it’s better to remember how things were. My wife and I stayed here about 10 years ago and had an amazing time. After our most recent stay, we won’t be back. The biggest issue were the hall lights at night. Not bright during the day but lit up our room at night when coming through the window above the door. Needless to say, we didn’t sleep well that night.
