We booked 2 nights at the Whistling Swan in July. The weather was in the high 70's low 80's. The first night when we arrived the temperature in our room was 76 degrees.. The air was set at 65. We had a long sleepless night as the temp in the room rose to 79 degrees. We went to the front desk the next morning and the gentlemen said its an old house and it has trouble keeping up with the air. He offered us a fan for our room. Sometimes it’s better to remember how things were. My wife and I stayed here about 10 years ago and had an amazing time. After our most recent stay, we won’t be back. The biggest issue were the hall lights at night. Not bright during the day but lit up our room at night when coming through the window above the door. Needless to say, we didn’t sleep well that night. Cozy, old Inn. Limited staff so don’t expect much “service”. If you need something, you can call and the property manager will accommodate you. Perfect location. Nice parking behind the house. Rooms are comfortable and charming. No bells and whistles - it’s not a Hilton. If you’re looking for charm and location, this is a good spot!
I didn’t trust the horrible reviews Huge mistake. The single worst travel experience in my life. This place should be flat out illegal. They will steal your money. I can’t give any higher warning about this place
DO NOT STAY HERE!! No control of temperature. No fan. It was terribly hot and humid. No wifi. Bar and terrible piano player below your rooms. Mattress was old and sagged. No hospitality, no one ever at front desk. Location was the only reason it gets even 1 star. No check out bill to verify charges. No one to even call if there are questions or concerns. Will never stay here again and will not recommend.
